What information does Neosensory Buzz collect?

We care about your privacy, and Buzz will never record sound from your environment. Your privacy is your own.

At no point does Buzz make, collect or transmit audio recordings. To improve our product, Buzz only collects minimal information listed below:

  • Whether Bluetooth is paired, whether it is charging, and an ongoing measure of the battery level.
  • Average audio energy, and the number of times a beep has occurred (such as a smoke alarm) over a 5 minute period.
  • The sensitivity settings (set via the plus and minus buttons), as well as the maximum allowed vibration intensity and frequency range setting (set in the Neosensory app).
  • Debugging information: crash point of reference and call stack

Neosensory Privacy Policy

Welcome to the web site (the “Site”) of Neosensory, Inc. (“Company”, “we”, “us” and/or “our”). This Site is operated by Company and has been created to provide information about our company and the apps, products (“Products”), and services (collectively the “Services”), to our Site visitors and Services users (“you”, “your”). This Privacy Policy sets forth Company’s policy with respect to personally identifiable data (“Personal Data”) and other information that is collected from users of the Services.

We abide by and have certified adherence to the principles of the EU-U.S. and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States. We have certified to the Department of Commerce that we adhere to the Privacy Shield Principles.  If there is any conflict between the terms in this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. Further, Company is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you interact with us through the Services, we may collect Personal Data and other information from you, as further described below:

Personal Data That You Provide Through the Services: While using our Services, we may ask you to provide us with certain information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, information about your hearing profile, the type of hearing or sound related technology you currently use, demographic information, postal address and phone number.

The personal information we collect allows us to contact you regarding new products and updates to existing products and services. It also helps us improve our products and services by giving us data that can be internally analyzed and audited.

Potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information may be made available to our employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. For example, your postal address will be send to a carrier that needs to ship you a product. By using our products and services, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.

We will never sell your Personal Data, but we may sell aggregated, anonymized forms of information to third parties. Wherever we collect Personal Data, we make an effort to provide a link to this Privacy Policy.

BY VOLUNTARILY PROVIDING US WITH PERSONAL DATA, YOU ARE CONSENTING TO OUR USE OF IT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY. USE OF THE SERVICES REQUIRES THAT PERSONAL DATA BE PROCESSED BY US IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WHERE THE COMPUTING SYSTEMS AND INFRASTRUCTURE NECESSARY FOR YOU TO USE THE SERVICES ARE LOCATED. FEATURES AND CAPABILITIES OF THE SERVICES WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE WITHOUT SUCH PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.  ACCORDINGLY, IF YOU PROVIDE PERSONAL DATA TO US THROUGH USE OF THE SERVICES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE AND CONSENT THAT SUCH PERSONAL DATA MAY BE TRANSFERRED FROM YOUR CURRENT LOCATION TO THE OFFICES AND SERVERS OF COMPANY AND THE AUTHORIZED THIRD PARTIES REFERRED TO HEREIN LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES.

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE SERVICES, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE ANY SERVICES TO YOU IF YOU ELECT TO HAVE PERSONAL DATA ERASED OR DELETED, AND THAT WITHOUT USE OF PERSONAL DATA, WE CANNOT PROVIDE SERVICES TO YOU. ACCORDINGLY, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY TERMINATED IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS ERASED OR DELETED, AND YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE – AS AN EXPRESS CONDITION OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES – THAT WE AND OUR REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT HAVE ANY LIABILITY TO YOU FOR TERMINATING YOUR ACCOUNT AND/OR USE OF THE SERVICES.

Other Information:

Non-Identifiable Data: When you interact with Company through the Services, we receive and store certain personally non-identifiable information. Such information, which is collected passively using various technologies, cannot presently be used to specifically identify you. Company may store such information itself or such information may be included in databases owned and maintained by Company affiliates, agents or service providers, and is used as provided in our Terms of Service. The Services may use such information and pool it with other information to track, for example, the total number of visitors to our Site, the number of visitors to each page of our Site, and the domain names of our visitors’ Internet service providers. It is important to note that no Personal Data is available or used in this process.

Cookies: In operating the Site, we may use a technology called “cookies.” A cookie is a piece of information that the computer that hosts our Services gives to your browser when you access the Services. Our cookies help provide additional functionality to the Site and help us analyze Site usage more accurately. For instance, our Site may set a cookie on your browser that allows you to access the Services without needing to remember and then enter a password more than once during a visit to the Site. In all cases in which we use cookies, we will not collect Personal Data except with your permission. On most web browsers, you will find a “help” section on the toolbar. Aggregated Personal Data: In an ongoing effort to better understand and serve the users of the Services, Company often conducts research on its customer demographics, interests and behavior based on the Personal Data and other information provided to us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis, and Company may share this aggregate data with its affiliates, agents, business partners and customers. This aggregate information does not identify you personally. Company may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.

Analytics and Tracking Technologies: We may, and we may allow third party service providers to, use cookies (as noted above) or other tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites following your use of the Site. We use third party service providers for a variety of purposes, including website and app analytics purposes, marketing and advertising, and marketing analytics and automation purposes. Our Site uses Google Analytics, which is a web analysis service that employs cookies that are stored to your computer in order to facilitate an analysis of your use of the Site. The information generated by these cookies, such as time, place and frequency of your visits to our Site, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google’s location in the US and stored there. Google uses this information to analyze and report on your use of our Site. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law or where such third parties process this data on Google’s behalf. 

You can opt-out of making your activity on the Site available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on from https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about Site activity. Our Use of Your Personal Data and Other Information

Company uses the Personal Data you provide in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. If you provide Personal Data for a certain reason, we may use the Personal Data in connection with the reason for which it was provided. For instance, if you contact us by email, we will use the Personal Data you provide to answer your question or resolve your problem. Also, if you provide Personal Data in order to obtain access to the Services, we will use your Personal Data to provide you with access to such Services and to monitor your use of such Services. We may also use your Personal Data and other personally non-identifiable information collected through the Services to help us improve the content and functionality of the Services, to better understand our users and to improve the Services.  If you provide us with an email address, we may use this information to contact you in the future to tell you about services we believe will be of interest to you, and by providing your email address, you are providing your express consent for us to do. If we provide such communications, we will include instructions permitting you to “opt-out” of receiving them in the future. 

How We Respond To Do Not Track Signals

Our Site currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals and operates as described in this Privacy Policy whether or not a DNT signal is received. Our Disclosure of Your Personal Data and Other Information

Company is not in the business of selling your Personal Data. We consider this information to be a vital part of our relationship with you. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data with certain third parties without further notice to you, as set forth below:

Business Transfers: As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets.

Agents, Consultants and Related Third Parties: Company, like many businesses, sometimes hires other companies to perform certain business-related functions. Examples of such functions include mailing information, maintaining databases and processing payments. When we employ another entity to perform a function of this nature, we only provide them with the information that they need to perform their specific function.

Individuals may have the right to limit the use and disclosure of their personal information as required by the Privacy Shield’s Principles, such as whether your personal information is disclosed to a third party or used for purposes materially different from the purpose for which the personal information was originally collected or subsequently authorized by you.

Our Policies Concerning Children

Company does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 16. If you are under the age of 16, please do not submit any Personal Data through the Services. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce our Privacy Policy by instructing their children never to provide Personal Data on the Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 16 has provided Personal Data to Company through the Services, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

Links to Other Web Sites

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Services. The Services may contain links to other web sites not operated or controlled by Company (the “Third Party Sites”). The policies and procedures we described here do not apply to the Third Party Sites. The links from the Services do not imply that Company endorses or has reviewed the Third Party Sites. We suggest contacting those sites directly for information on their privacy policies.

Security

Company takes reasonable steps to protect the Personal Data provided via the Services from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error free. In particular, email sent to or from the Services may not be secure. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via email. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any Personal Data to Company via the Internet.

Changes to Company’s Privacy Policy

The Services and our business may change from time to time. As a result, at times it may be necessary for Company to make changes to this Privacy Policy. Company reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time and from time to time without prior notice. Please review this policy periodically, and especially before you provide any Personal Data. This Privacy Policy was last updated on the date indicated above. Your continued use of the Services after any changes or revisions to this Privacy Policy shall indicate your agreement with the terms of such revised Privacy Policy.

To keep your Personal Data accurate, current, and complete, please contact us as specified below. We will take reasonable steps to update or correct Personal Data in our possession that you have previously submitted via the Services.

Compliance with Privacy Shield Principles

In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, we commit to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information transferred to the United States pursuant to Privacy Shield.  European Union and Swiss individuals with Privacy Shield inquiries or complaints should first contact us at: privacy@neosensory.com

If we have received your Personal Data from you and subsequently transfer it to a third party service provider for processing, we will remain responsible if they process your Personal Data in a manner inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles, unless we prove that we are not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

If you are an EU or Swiss resident and have an unresolved privacy or data use concern that we have not addressed satisfactorily, please contact JAMS, our U.S.-based third party dispute resolution provider (free of charge), at https://www.jamsadr.com/eu-us-privacy-shield.
