User testimonials

When someone was saying my name to get my attention I was able to recognize the rhythmic vibration and knew someone was calling my name.

Isaac W.

Buzz alerted me that the water was running. I always accidentally leave it running. It’s those little things and the seemingly little ways that Buzz has enhanced my awareness.

Sharif R.

It helps me a lot when I’m outside. If there is a siren, police car, or whatever, I can be aware and look around me.

Phillip S.

My life has really improved so much with it. Being able to talk with people, being able to hear their voice, being able to distinguish their tone and being able to tell when they’re frustrated, it really gives me a lot of information that before I didn’t have.

Sylas U.

I am picking up new things, recognizing feelings of the vibrations and the things around me.

RaVae J.

I noticed yesterday when I was trying to boil water – which I can’t hear – and the wristband was vibrating lots. And I asked my partner, and he said yes, it was boiling. That’s really cool!

Angela P.

I am always experiencing new sounds that I hadn’t heard before on a daily basis.

Frank L.

I now can go into just about any place with just Buzz and not be wondering if I am going to be understood or if I can understand them.

Robert L.

The more I used it the more I found out, and I wanted to keep using it.

Lei W.

Tune into the world

Choose your mode to experience every environment.

Sleeping Mode

Rest easy knowing that only loud, emergency sounds will alert you. Don’t worry, the algorithm filters out snoring and sheet rustling so you can catch your zzz’s.

Music Mode

Experience music on another level. There’s no need to crank the volume when you wear Buzz. This mode lets you feel the pulse of the beat layered with the textures and nuances of the melody. Whether you love rap, jazz, country, or ballads, strap it on and you’re good to go.

Everyday Mode

Enjoy your world – every day. Use this mode for most daily environments. It adjusts to your surroundings and cancels out unnecessary background noise like air conditioning or noisy restaurants.

Vibrating alarms

Wake up to a strong, silent alarm on your wrist. Select a vibration pattern, set your wake up time, choose if it should repeat, and rest peacefully. Use it for reminders throughout your day too.

It’s as simple as learning to recognize patterns

When we become fluent in a language, learn to ride a bike, or refine our golf swing, we form associations with patterns of information from our physical world. Buzz is a wearable device that captures sound and translates it into vibrational patterns on the skin. With practice, these associations become automatic and a new sense is born. You’ll experience the difference on the first day you wear it. And it only gets better from there.

Our technology is developed by leading neuroscientists in collaboration with the Deaf community, and backed by Silicon Valley. See our TED Talk “Can we create new senses for humans?”

FAQs

  • What is the return policy for Buzz? Do you have a trial period?

We have a 30-day risk-free return policy for Buzz. This includes one-time purchase Buzz devices and Buzz subscriptions. If you want to return your Buzz, simply let us know at support@neosensory.com within the first 30 days, and we’ll share return instructions with you. We’ll refund your purchase, less shipping fees.

  • Is there an app that controls the device? Do I need to use it?

Buzz does not require use of an app.

Neosensory does offer a free companion app for Buzz. It is available for both iOS and Android. With the app you can unlock additional tools such as Music Mode, Sleeping Mode, frequency range, and fine control over the vibration intensity.

  • Is my Buzz waterproof?

Buzz is water-resistant but not waterproof. You can wear Buzz in light rain, but do not submerge Buzz in water or wear it in the shower.

  • How long does the Buzz battery last on one charge?

Depending on the microphone sensitivity level and how noisy the environment is, Buzz can last over 24 hours on one full charge.

  • How does my brain adjust to the vibrations? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

Your brain will start matching sounds to the patterns of the vibrations over time. The more you wear your Buzz, the quicker your brain will learn these patterns. Some things you can try to help your brain connect vibrations to sounds are to test sounds in different environments. Try clapping, knocking, ringing the doorbell, or pushing the test button on your fire alarm. You can also practice with the training games in the Neosensory app (available for iOS and Android).
